self-titled: ^_^

future imperfect

so i saw in someone's away messages that "are you hot?" was on. curious, i turned to it. i'm speechless. This is a show how? don't get me wrong, it's hilarious, it's just incredibly stupid. there's, from what i've seen, not even witty comments made, some guy or girl struts down, the judges in about 30 seconds give arbitrary numbers between 7 and 10 for body face and sex appeal. and what the fuck is this "the family" show. good god damn tv has gotten bad. luckily by sweetass minipc will be here soon and i'll get all the buffys and angels in the world and together we will build a kingdom of happiness.

here's a new feature for the old self-titled...

Apocolypse Watch 2003

I've decided that we are rapidly approaching the apocolypse. In the past week or so:

100 dead in the Rhode Island fire
30 dead in the Chicago trampling
260 dead in a China earthquake
160 dead in Korea subway fire
4 dead in US helicopter crash
97 dead in Congo ebola outbreak
200 dead in Iran plan crash
some people dead in Beijing University bombings
4 dead in Alabama fight over CD player

then in today's news:
23 dead in Columbia helicopter crash
1 dead in Mr. Rogers death
60 executed by Ivory Coast rebels somewhere
i think there was something else to but i forgot.

numbers don't lie kids, and this is only the beginning. And i'll be here to keep you fresh with updates.

and now since katie punked out on watching buffy, which is like the only thing in the world i wanted to do, i will go to the mods for a few beers and then go to sleep.

uh-oh

woohoo tomorrow's thursday, which is almost friday.

poker last night was fun, we got a pretty late start, and boy was i shocked when i checked the time at what i thought was around 1am and it was after 3. I think my body was a little messed up because i took a nap when i got home.

I alternately played close and stupid cards, and at the end of the night i was down 2 bucks for pizza and some smokes. but i was up booze and cholula, so i'll call it a victory. on the novel side of the evening, we had a chick from grill 23 playing, which while not unprecedented, was still different. and she was fairly attractive, and knew how to play cards.

dumbfounded, i packed up my laundry and ipod and stuff at 3:30 and kicked it on home, where i quickly found my way to bed.

today was remarkably not difficult. poweraded it in the morning after wrestling with our broken but now replaced shower rod, and then you know, just worked.

came home, played video games, and decided on my next purchase/project.

look at her here, and then drop in 1700mhz AMD chip and 256 meg RAM, that you can see here, and then finally throw a region free dvd player i will pick up and then whatever HD and another 256 megs of RAM i have lying about and you get a shoebox size media PC. Hook it up to the tv player and throw it on a wireless network and shit, there's nothing i can buy or download that i won't be able to watch. PAL 16x9 dvds? no problem. DIVX movies? no problem. Feel like piping in some of my mp3s to the stereo? no problem. ohboyohboy. and all told at about $350 shipped after rebate. so rad. now i can spend stupid lots of money on buffy dvds from across the pond and not worry about image stretching!

hahah, buffy is really the reason behind all of this, the new dvd player, this rig, a $20,000 engagement ring i carry with me just in case i run into buffy some time. although this little pc thing is just a great idea in general. Especially if i'm ever to get tivo. mmmmmmm tivo.

dude yr so crazy

woohoo i just bought a new dvd player. this will scale up nicely when i run across a HD TV, but most importantly is the onboard PAL playback, which means, uhh, i can spend $120 for Buffy and Angel DVDs now instead of $40 in 5 months and a year. sounds great, huh? Although i jut realized how stupid i am and missed buffy season 4 repostathon on the newsgroups for the first 7 episodes. Sigh.

Also, wtf. Every boxed set of quality 45 minute shows in the universe costs like $80-$120 at least here. Star trek, farscape, xfiles, sopranos, etc. These discs cost roughly 60-80 pounds when ordered from england. Which is comparable, especially taking into consideration that things are generally more expensive on the other side of the blue. sometimes, it's even less, for instance, the godfather box set is 30 pounds, compared to $80. wow, that blows my mind. But a more normal comparision is say farscape season 1. $130 vs. 90L. Which makes UK a little more pricey, but not unreasonably so.

But then there is Buffy and Angel, which inexplicable (but i'm not complaining) street here for around $40 but however sell in the UK for 70-80 pounds. It makes zero sense and it seems to be designed specifically to hurt me.

the downside to the new player is that if i play an anamorphic ws transfer, it'll stretch the picture vertically. that becomes a non-issue with the inevitable switch to a widescreen tv.

and that's enough of tonights HOLY SHIT Sam and Carla just kissed. I'm so very disturbed. Anyway, as i was saying, that's enough of tonight's "god i'm a loser", i'm going to go watch buffy and cry and dream about my Angel DVDs or something.

oh boy, 11pm and time for bed. If i'm a lucky boy, newbury comics will have the pulseprogramming disc tomorrow. I'm not too hopeful though. I'll be happy if they at least got the merge comp in.

burger bacon dog

so i've seen a few more episodes of wild thornberries recently than i would like, but today i was thorougly entertained.

If you aren't familiar with the wild thornberry formula, allow me: this family are nature documentarists, there are two sisters, a british talking monkey who wears a shirt, and a little kid who i think is feral. I'm not sure why they have a shirt-wearing monkey, nor am i sure why they have a little wild boy travelling with them. What i'm also unsure about is why eliza, the main daughter, has the ability to confer with animals. Anyway, in the episodes i've seen, some animal or animals is/are in trouble, eliza talks to them and tries as hard as she can to help them. this usually involves getting them food or giving them a haircut or something. and it's touching and lame and what not.

So this morning i wake up and start watching, and it's the same old shit. there's some little baby cheetah cub who's hungry and thirsty and has lost his mother. eliza goes out, feeds him a little water, and they set out to look for mom. the search eventually lands all of them up in a tree chased by jackals, and then the mom comes and saves the day. eliza climbs down the tree and is all "oh i'm so glad you came, so happy to see you reuinited with baby, i love nature" etc. then the mom and baby cheetah try to eat eliza because they're hungry and that ruled.

so that was this morning, then the rest of the day was mcdonalds, buffy and video games.

this weekend saw the bostonians show on friday, met at citysides first, show then to the party after. Pretty fun time all in all. Saturday was me sitting around for the bulk of the day, including a nap that almost took me out of the evening's runnings. but then i went over to edmonds for sean darren, et al's white trash party. I drank a couple 40s. then i made a brilliant move wherein a dropped in 14 lake on the way home. partied there for a while, ended up on the couch listening to sigur ros.

and then today. and boy am i tired.

OH yeah, a nick cave album found its way into my daily list of potential songs i hear. and it's great stuff. the album is no more shall we part and it rox0rs. just these gorgeous dirgey and dramatic songs. the problem with me liking this so much is that the dude is proliferic as hell. i hate chasing down back catalogs.

ok insomniac and sleep

i meant to post this hours ago

wow i need to get to sleep. between poker on tueday, and last night's nonsense, i am woefully behind on sleep.

taking tonight off for the good of all mankind, and then tomorrow is alumni happy hour and then bostonians show and party.

last night went to fleming's for dinner with tony, zack and one of tony's friends from home. Very good meal, i had the most ridiculously tender filet ever created. Then we hit up some pub for a while then at about 11:30 or so it was back to lake street for more stupid fun.

today i was a wreck, but it's all good. tomorrow is friday, and i should be sort of well rested because i plan on falling asleep during cheers within the next half hour.

just breathe

yay the married... with children reunion special thingy is on. what a terrible terrible show. I wish it was still on. Actually, i think fx runs it sometimes. i wish i was more aware back in 1987 when fox started, seems like it'd be a fun thing to watch develop.

they're having the reunion on the original set, which i guess is a real shocker to me, i mean, who'd think that they'd keep a set around for 10 years? hey hey 15 minutes in and ted says his first word.

anyway, fun weekend, wish it was extended another day like the rest of the world, but whatever...

thursday night i met up with kids at the kells, which was just a total waste of a couple hours. we split, headed to white horse where we couldn't go because of dave's expired license, and then settled for great scott, which was not a bad time by any means. for a night i hadn't planned on going out, i don't think i got home till about 3/3:30 because after the bar i ended up loitering in the hallway talking to tara and brenda for way longer than i should have.

friday rolled right along, actually, it started out pretty fun because i step into the office and pat's like "don't take your coat off" and i didn't, and instead left it on and walked down to steve's and picked up omelettes and bacon and eggs and breakfast food and then ate breakfast before starting work.

THEN friday rolled right along. Left work around 5:30, headed to Mary ann's expecting a huge line and got in and it was nearly empty. had a few beers and then headed off to sunset grill for darren's birthday dinner. we ate and then headed for bars

oh wow, kelly bundy with short hair was WAY hot.

oh yeah bars, uhh, stupid cover at scott's, white horse was out because of dave's license, the avenue said no on the license, and then we did our house for a couple of beers which pretty much sucked.

some people went home, some others headed to Mary ann's. Darren was approaching priceless at this point, and was pretty much the most entertaining public drunk i've yet to see while we were on the T. with that episode over we got to mary ann's and returned to drinking.

i'm ashamed to admit it, but i think between john diana and myself, at least $15 was spent on the bear and moose shooting game in the back of the bar. john was ridiculous good, it was sick how good he was, actually, one shot kills over and over and over again. must have something to do with him being a hick from missouri.

hahaha bud was the best.

back to the hick shooting game, i sucked. real bad. but i did kill a bear and a moose after about 100 tries. i also killed a baby bear, but apparently it's no good to shoot the babies. whatever, it was still a proud moment for me.

a lot of people left and then tim darren bing and i stuck it around till close. well, bing may have left early or gone home with some girl, i'm not sure as neither tim darren or i have any real idea what happened after mary ann's turned on the lights. all of our memories just die right there.

saturday i did a whole lot of nothing. watched a fair amount of tv. after watching a little bit of the jaw-dropping michael jackson interview thing, i went to the mods and met people and mobilized for our trek to dave petrelli's for a party. after walking a while in stupidly cold weather, tim sean and i broke off, took a cab, and then wandered the streets of newton until we found our way.

the party was fun, a bunch of bostonians and such. i had a 40 which is just always fun. eventually the bostonians crew took over the basement and did stupid things i don't remember. chasing adam around the room after a slapping fight is one of these things. all i know is that a bottle of tequila was being passed around at the end of the night for lack of other alcohol.

got home from that somehow, i think adam and i ate a box of better cheddars, it wasn't entirely a waste though, i held on to my portion. i turned on nickelodeon, but think i fell asleep the moment i hit the bed.

i woke up to this as my away message "oh my god i want a wife" i can't even begin to figure out where that came from.

today i lied around bit, watched some nascar, then went to star market to pick up some necessities (twinkies, fruit roll-ups, marshmallows, shit like that) and mcdonalds. when i got home, edward scissorhands had just started and i sat down and watched that with adam and katie. then played videogames.

then katie and i watched an episode of buffy. and i'm happy to say season 3 has landed firmly on its feet. i miss spike though, i hope he comes back soon.

on a related note, i think my dvd player is really dead. the ps2 will suffice for a while, but i think a new player is in order. i'll probably pick up one of those dirt cheap plays anything deals, which opens up the world of overpriced import buffy and angel dvds for seasons we won't get for a year or so. this could be dangerous.

oh man do i need a new pair of shoes. i'm too lazy to order them. yes, that's right, not too lazy to go shopping, but too lazy to go to a website and order them. i'm also sitting on amazon.com gift moneys, and am too lazy to use them.

ok enough of this window sitting open. cheers and insomniac and bed.

five by five

so there's this guy, we'll call him mr. oldman, and he has become a fixture in our home here at 18 caltha. He calls fairly regularly, and asks for mary. There's no mary here, we tell him this, and then sometimes he gets angry, sometimes he gets confused, most of the time he just gets accusatory. A few weeks ago was the most memorable call sequence, as he called. then called again, and again. plainly stating what number he called (our number) and that he knows his daughter is there and i better get her on the phone. etc. i guess he called katie on tuesday. then he called today and when i said "sir, we go through this too much, i'm sorry but there is no mary here" he said, and i quote (thus the quotation marks), "you're full of bull" and hung up on me. he's the best.

katie and i are now three episodes into the third season of buffy, and the first two were pretty weak. between 2 and 3 they decided to make a lot of changes to the characters and i think it's just taking some time for everyone to get comfortable with their new selves. and i don't know how i feel about there being two slayers now, but i expect something interesting about faith to come out soon enough.

picked up two new cds tuesday, the new ted leo and the erlend oye disc. ted leo is as should be expected, very good, very classic. the erlend oye is pretty sweet too, i love me my electronic pop music.

ok i have to go to the kells now. it's not like i'm missing cheers or anything. I don't know what's goingn on. last night during the cheers spot was freaking charles in charge, and now tonight is cosby. I may just get music before bed time back.

hurray for the weekend. well, soon. well yeah, for all intents and purposes it's here. also, do i go to panama city for a few days in the second week in march?

you have murdered something fine in me

well, for the first time that i can think of, i had a legitimately awful day at work. It all started when i got in to find out that fleet, for the second month in a row, fucked up a $400,000 and 1000 item transfer of ours. it's all their fault, it really sucks. situation goes like this: every month we run a file that a.) takes money from condo owners b.) puts it into a holding account c.) disperses it to the condo accounts.

they changed their system last month, without ever telling me. when it fucked up last month i called and they were like "well, why didn't you change the file like we told you to?" they did, in a meeting suggest that "sometime down the road" we think about changing the file, but that was the end of it. so then they try to make me feel like a loser, while meanwhile being utterly useless in fixing the problem.

so after last month, i called up and said "look, i just inherited this system, i won't pretend to know how the file is generated or what the fields mean. just look at what we send you and tell me exactly what i need to change."

and they did and i did. then it fucked up again this month. it was almost disastrous, for a while i thought it a.) took money from condo owners b.) put it in our holding account c.) took money from condo owners again.

now imagine that scenario, you're some condo owner who signed a card that says "sure, take $1000 from my account every month" and then we take $2000. Now multiply that by 1000.

turns out it wasn't so bad, it just happened that instead of dispersing the money to the condo accounts, it took the money FROM the accounts into our holding account which now has twice as much as it should, and a lot of our accounts are overdrawn.

anyway, i call up vehement, "well why didn't you make this change?" "because you never fucking told me to."

so anyway, that was about the entirity of my day, dealing with inneffective people who kept throwing the blame on me, thus putting me on the defensive, but i couldn't lash out so instead i'm just sitting there feeling defensive without being able to act on it and it's carrying over to the rest of my work so no matter what happened during the day i was ready to start screaming at anybody so that i could unecessarily defend myself thus causing extreme unhappiness and a possible ulcer plus i had other things on my mind and i just got the hell out of there at 5:30 then my ipod didn't work then i got home and lied down for an hour.

so that was that. i cannot WAIT for poker tomorrow night. i need to just sit around and have fun. and drink and smoke and win a zillion dollars while making jokes and laughing and stuff.

watched some tv and ordered moogies.

OH WAIT

saw the best commercial ever. it came on, and katie and adam were talking about it, but i had never seen it. and somehow i got the vibe that it was going to be funny. a young woman looking at a pregnancy test all serious, her husband standing outside, also serious. then on the screen: "this couple just became." then the next line comes up a little later "the town's youngest grandparents" and the woman moves away and reveals a young girl and something about marijuana being bad for you and jesus, it's not supposed to be funny, but i exploded in laughter. seriously the best commercial in the known universe.

ok goodnight.

i can and i will

now, let me first say that i really have nothing wrong with the existence of boyfriends, on the whole. there have been only a very few times where there being a boyfriend has caused me even the smallest bit of a problem. However, i do think that we should just get rid of them on the whole, because really, it's never of any benefit to me, so what's the point?

and now my weekend (take 2, my idiot self closed the window before posting)

On friday, well, i think i actually wrote on friday.

saturday morning i woke up and sat around much of the day. actually, i laid down much of the day because the house was too cold for me to expose any more than one half of my body to the open air. so i laid around and watched the telly for a spell.

Then i got up and arranged dinner plans with darren. 5 minutes later, he jeff and tara came to pick me up anad we offed to chili's.

chili's was closed because of equipment failure. then we went to friday's and left due to a 45 minute wait. then we drove ALL The way back home and dropped off tara and then jeff darren and i went to charlie's and spent 30 minutes in HMV waiting for the hour wait and then decided to just go to burger king. on the way to burger king we stopped at moogy's and ate there.

at moogy's, in addition to eating i played darren in 5 games of connect 4. one played to a draw, one lost to hastiness, and 3 handily one due to calculated planning.

after i ate i stepped outside and caught the 86 bus to harvard square. Got out and walked a few blocks to the lizard lounge.

Small and chill venue. lots of wood, carpet on the floor, round tables and what not. i saw ad frank on the way in and asked when he'd be playing and he said around 11:30/12, which put me in a bit of a dilemma. i was way out in cambridge, and when you're out there, midnight is your effective last call to get home cheaply. For about an hour i deliberated, and ultimately decided to cab it.

meanwhile, i'm standing in the back with a beer feeling like the big loser i am. me all alone while everyone else was apparently attending their high school reunion or something. also there were tons of fat girls (literally, haha) and loads of chicks in interesting skirts.

the first act was a guitar/keyboard duo that placed pleasant, but similar sounding slowish tunes. then was an energetic technoish almost dark electro type band that was like only one step away from something i'd be way into. although the songs actually got really enjoyable as the set progressed.

i thought i saw jin walk by to buy a drink, and then i saw her later and it was her and my night was saved. i moved over and sat with her and her friend and chatted a bit and then ad frank came out (he and the band in sailor outfits). The show ruled, he played the entire new album, ticket was non-refundable and a solo u-hauls and ryders and hopelessly devoted to you. there was a cute girl playing keyboards, which is instant coolness, and she was also wearing a sailor outfit, which just put me over the edge.

the show was absolutely great, i would've like a couple more songs from mr. fancypants, but i understand the night was a cd release party, so the new album rules.

on our way out the three of us hit the kissing booth, which was a cute idea, and then went to some dive bar in harvard square for a drink or two.

then back home. i checked on the mods and nothing, and then home home to do some music stuff before bed.

i noticed that nickelodeon had a wildly new saturday night lineup. three's company, perfect strangers, and head of the class. i of course didn't make it through three's company, but there's always next saturday.

today i did nothing, cheers.

a world ruled by pants

first things first: i havent brought my lunch to work the past two days because wednesday night i was drunk and or lazy and thursday night i was exhausted and could do nothing but just pass out in bed. the point of this story is that i bought 2 pounds of lunch meat on wednesday and haven't been able to eat any so i decided i needed to make a sandwich tonight. so i toasted some bread, popped some roast beef in the microwave, slopped some cheese and it was damn good. the warm meat and toasted bread just make a world of difference.

tuesday i'm sure i played poker or something.

wednesday i came home and went to some chinese place with some kids for katie's birthday dinner. now, the food was fine, i mean, it was chinese food. but the place made me feel uncomfortable, 1.) you ordered by numbers 2.) it was a dump, 3.) you ordered by numbers. maybe i'm just too high brow or something. so that was fun and it led to me going to bed at 11, which is never a bad thing.

then thursday came, i had to stay at work till 7 because, well, i really had nowhere to go between work and the concert, so might as well stick around and look dedicated or something. around 7 i left work and headed down to kenmore square and got some mcdonalds. there are a lot of ugly people in boston, i think at least half of them came into mcdonalds that night, it was gross. then i went to landsdowne street and realized i was thinking the roxy was axis and was proven an idiot. so i got back on the t and went down to tremont street.

the show was great. at first, i wasn't really a fan of the venue, it was a tad bigger than the avalon and it was more open, which just added to my not liking.

ahahahaha ok there is this little skit/commercial thing for all that on now. and it really sucked, it's this kid dressed liked eminen singing that guess who's back somng or whatever in a bad eminem voice and he's saying "two trailer park cows" etc. and there's two cows and i wanted to kill myself. but then he broke into "meat is back, back again" while holding up all these slabs of raw beef and i lost it. it was great.

anyway, the roxy yea. some band called the damn personals opened and sucked, i mean, i guess it'd be cool if i was in 9th grade and thought ironic and uninspired rock songs about being a loser and not getting chicks was cool, but i'm not and they weren't.

then les savy fav came out and rocked a bit. the more open venue just gave tim harrington more room to go absolutely crazy. this includes straddling the upper balcony and running around, hanging off said balcony, and getting a lift up off the main floor and swinging from a chain hanging off the ceailing about 12 feet off the floor. and the great thing about it, this isn't pearl jam "alive" video/lollapalooza violent, mosh pit inspiring antics. it's just a big fat guy going absolutely nuts while the crowd laughs and cheers.

shorter set from lsf than i would've thought, and sadly the rome ep wasn't that well represented, althought they did close out on a super extended and wholly rocking version of rome which kicked ass.

Meanwhile, i'm checking out my section of the crowd. and by checking out, i mean shooting glances to my left where there was a cute girl a few people over who was with a group but not really hanging out or talking to them much at all. she was a.) cute, b.) kinda rocking out to les savy fav and c.) looked like she was familiar with them. all cool things in a girl.

then there was a break, i had to nurse a full bladder, and then returned to a slightly adjusted and impacted crowd. now cute girl was right in front of me.

travis and friends took the stage and started out just huge, sick opening ballast. something like face of the earth, time bomb, bra, the city, and girl o'clock, just way too much loud fast kick ass danceable rock music. and by the time the city was going on i noticed something weird happening, the vicinity of people plus the dancing and the music that just called for more dancing had turned my small space of the roxy into some dancefloor at a bar, except instead of grinding with some girl to madonna's "into the groove" or something for no reason but the sheer thrill of physical contact, it was grinding with some girl to the dismemberment plan for yes, the thrill of physical contact, but also because the music compelled it. it was fun, strange yes, but really, i'm in no position to complain.

the rest of the show proceeded splendidly. there were at least 50 people on stage for ice of boston, highlights as far as i remember were girl o'clock, the city, onward fat girl ruled, ok joke's over was a little restrained, had a police medley in the middle, but i still nearly died from the extended movement, yeah yeah back and forth and what do you want me to say ruled, uhh yeah, not a bad moment in the bunch.

and the final boston show isn't until may, wuhoo. the show wasn't death and dismemberment + cex caliber, especially when considering the i-still-don't-think-i-really-experienced-it ok joke's over, but it was a super solid two sets of music wherein the less intimate setting was made up by the fact that i had dismemberment-plan-show-girlfriend to dance with.

oh yeah, some dude on stage for ice of boston poured out his beer onto the stage. it was kind of funny, and cooled me off for a brief second.

got out of the show around 12, fell asleep on the t, came home, hit my bed like a rock.

the plan is still the reigning kings of best live show. just unbelievable consistent and awesome and seem like they totally love it.

today was work, and about a foot of snow, and i asked for a raise i think. we'll see how that works out.

looks like i will not be going out tonight, especially in consideration of the crap all over the ground. tomorrow may be all day in a bar with tony followed by ad frank in cambridge, or it could be none of those things. i suppose we will find out anon.

oh yeah, spoon and crooked fingers, 4/8/03. rule. interpol on 3/6, less rule but still cool. it's like one awesome show the first week of each month. crooked fingers and spoon could not excite me more though. but it's funny, the very first thing i thought about after "whoa, crooked fingers and spoon" was, and this is about 1 second after that thought, "shit, what about poker night." hehe.

man, why have i not been going to shows? i guess the weather and the tired are the excuses, but that's lame. listening to plan mp3s now and i just want to relive it, these mp3s suck.

ok, time for more tv. not that i haven't been watching tv throughout writing this but whatever, it was a good way to close the entry.

omg i'm at work

well balls, i had written up a whole big entry recounting my weekend and it seems to have not made it up.

i think in addition to the standard writeup i said somethings that were amazingly humorous and/or insightful. but thus is the case whenever something is lost, eh?

first thing i talked about was friday. after work, i went to the capital grill(e?) to meet my parents for dinner. i got there early so i ordered myself a (as i later discovered) $15 dollar scotch. but first, i screwed up and ordered glenfiddich instead of talisker, i caught myself too late, but they threw out the old nonetheless, a glass of glenfiddich 18 year special reserve down the drain. I nearly wept at my inability to do anything about it.

then the parents arrived and then i ate good food past capacity. i ordered a 20oz au poivre which was just delicious. there was also super spicy calimari, asparagus, multiple potato dishes and that's it. i finished with my steak, knowing i could slice it up and lunch it, but that asparagus and mashed potatoes weren't going anywhere unless it was in my stomach, so i had approximately a pound of each. good dinner, and a fine time with the parents.

then i went home and to sleep with the nickelodeon on. then i woke up at 2. then i went back to sleep at 4.

Saturday morning nick toons was a red letter day, as i'm now watching repeats. but my eyes stayed glued to the screen like they were new. I need help.

got up and proceeded to be lazy until i checked my messages and saw one from tony. i went down to some pub on washington street to meet tony and adam for beers and food and more beers. then we got 40s and walked home and headed to some ticket party at copperfields. good time there, it was like every senior i've seen who isn't one degree of separation away from the edmond's 8th floor peeps last year. as i said, enjoyable evening, i got appropriately drunk and have no recollection of getting home and going to sleep, where i apparantly turned on the tv, but not to nickelodeon, so i have no idea what's going on with that.

sunday, after changing channels, i caught some nick toonage and then got up and made omelette and bacon and stuff and ate it. then i did nothing that wasn't tv and video games.

oh yeah, watched a lot of stand up comedy, and realized i hate stand up comedy. especially when the comedian's entire schtick is having no self-confidence, that just really sucks. what also sucks are comedians who's routine centers on sound effect gags, woohoo, let's just smash some watermelons too while we're at it. female comedians by and large also suck. and audiences such because they explode in laughter at jokes that were over in the 80s, like any joke about nyc cab drivers. especially something along the lines of "i wonder if the middle east has all white cab drivers" ahaha ho ho ho so funny and such an unbelievable observation. screw you and die.

oh wow, i'm in the process of eating my leftover au poivre sandwich. it's outstanding.

and that is in essence what was lost.

Yesterday i worked, then had dinner at 14 lake, then watched the most frustrating episode of 7th heaven ever conceived, which i can't even begin writing about lest i smash my computer. oh yeah, i also picked up a couch cd at lunch, alas stephanie bohm only plays keyboards and does not sing, but it sounds like cool "post-rock" which is what the kids like to call it.

ok, posting this shiznit and getting back to work.
