wee

today was fun. I set out on a mission to piss away any trace of The Sick in my body and 4 liters of water in and, i imagine, 4 liters out i can happily say that i still think i'm getting sick. Wheover said water was the polio vaccine of the 21st century was sadly mistaken.

On friday the mission was to go to the People's Republic, some bar in Cambridge to meet Jin and her friends. I called girl and left a message, then took the real long "maybe someone will call me during this shower" shower and came out to nothing. Then i went to do my hair, and that ended up in a hair emergency where i applied the gel to hair too wet and looked like a fag. When i returned from said emergency i saw i had a message. I listened to it, she had just gotten home from work at 10 of 9, they had to kill a baboon at work and it sounded great and otherwise bvlah blah blah. I mostly bought it, but made the mistake of hitting 7 so that i couldn't relisten to it and decipher every nuance and then play it for anyone with an ear to get their take. On a side note, i think those last two sentences perfectly sum up why i will never have a successful relationship. Anyway, i trekked out to cambridge, went to Jin's, spent entirely too long there and at someone else's apartment, and then eventually made it to the bar. However, while at apt. #2 there were a couple weird small world occurences involving a cappella.

Anyway, we got to the bar, sean came out and i had to buy his beer because he spent all his money on cab fair. bar was decent, a communist theme that you notice for a minute and then adapt to. However, the weird locals to central square remained weird all night long. Bar was pretty badass though, in cambridge so you could smoke and i got my last beer at 2:10 which is breaking some law im sure. Then sean and i went home with some girl who lives near me, and sean thought it'd be good to make the ugly girl think she was going to get some sean ass on my couch or something. I made him deal with the situation and he did. then we went back to my place and to sleep and junk.

Saturday was super mega painting day for me and katie. We did up the living room this beigish color that just looks super. then i took a nap. then we painted more. then i started getting antsy looking for something to do that night. I took an even longer "Maybe someone will call me during this shower" shower and alas, no one called. So then i had a brilliant idea: go get food and walk around until something happens. So i went to t anthony's "where i go pretty much any night i go somewhere" and then started walking down comm ave. i walked a bit, all the way up harvard ave, down whatever road it is that goes to the twin donuts, then to market or commercial or whatever, then down washington back to comm ave, then up to harvard ave. And there i stopped at like 10:30 and debated whether or not a call 2 days in a row would be bad and if it were too late to do something and if 2 people going to a bar before full out bar time would be a little awkward. At 11 i headed home. Then i watched tv and stuff.

sunday was a wash, i don't remember what i did so i'm sure it was unimportant.

my fantasy football team is doing well and i'm learning about football so that's nice. My QB is on the Giants and i didn't realize that the giants had a bye week last week so my backup qb never got switched in and had a fairly decent game which would have made me look really good. I still probably one my game though which is nice. 3-1 for the wichita lineman.

ok, time for a quick nap maybe, t anthony's and poker.

woo, just back from the sox game. it was fun, despite the small fortune paid on hot dogs beer pretzels and peanuts. the game itself was a slaughter, althought the bottom of the eighth was awesome with the whole stadium standing up and cheering continuously aside from the two awful plays the sox made and the occassional ball. katie and i even did the random hi-five on the way out.

my only regret is that after the game and a few beers that tony did not pick up his phone so i had nowhere to go out drinking. sigh. that's what friday's are for. i really ought to call courtney tomorrow and i probably won't, but i should just to get it the hell out of the way.

alright, i need to set up my coffee, iron a shirt or two and get to sleep. peace.

ok jesus, finally back in business... it's been like a month seriously, a month since i've had an internet connection at home. I blame verizon. Upon their many inadequacies of recent memory, i think my favorite was when instead of mailing me a new modem (the old one was broken) they mailed me an empty envelope. Followup calls with them revealed that their order was actually to mail me, via next day air, a piece of paper. That is what they typed into the computer. Then someone got the order and said 'gee, a piece of paper. better hurry up and next day air this!" monkeys, all of them.

so i guess there's a fair amount to talk about from the last month or so, but it won't be tonight, because it's 11pm and what I do now is go to sleep at 11. I think it's respectable. or amazingly lame, i haven't quite decided yet.

gotten many new cds, The best of which is certainly the new pretty girls make graves. What i'd like is to be andrea zollo's bitch. because really, there's no way that relationship could work if i was anything but her bitch, but i'm down with that, because she's a rocking chick.

i should probably get back on the job search horse now that i can't use the "i have no home internet" excuse. i should also call this girl who was out with us (the edmonds 830 crowd minus the roommettes crowd) on friday, but i'm happy to use the "she has a boyfriend... in delaware" excuse for pretty much as long as I live.

I still manage to get out no and then, mostly with tony and that group. They moved down to harvard ave by all the allston bars, it's like 3 t stops down and a 10 or 15 minute walk, it's pretty nice. we have monday poker night. two fridays ago i was down there and partied like a fucking rock star like i haven't in a long long while. It was cute, end of the night like 4 of us were up, wasted in all sorts of ways and jumping off furniture playing air guitar to the yeah yeah yeahs. heh. then last friday was fairly rockstarish also, all the old school kids were up for the BC Miami game and we went down to sissy k's at like 7 where they had, gasp, dollar drafts. then we made it to somerville and apparantly left at like 5 or 6am. i spent the better part of the night talking with the above mentioned girl, who i either need to call this week and get the awkwardness out of the way or move on to pursuing andrea zollo bitchdom full time.

Man, what a bummer, just popped in the new Her Space Holiday CD, and it appears that HSH boy and cute HSH girl have split. Their gimmick was that they were in love or whatever, and all of the songs he wrote were about her. One of the tracks on the last CD was an edited phone conversation with his friend about how that's kinda weird, to be in a band and write and sing all your songs about the other member in the band. And now i'm just confused, mainly by the lyrics on this new disc. Either Mark has learned the finer points of writing songs from not his own experience, or, my guess since nearly every song is liberally salted with references to sex with new girls, ex girlfriend, breakups, loneliness, moving on, etc., that they're done. Could be a giant press move ala the white stripes, but who knows. Either way i'm down with this album, it's got a much more pop-song oriented structure than the last record.

Also, new mates of state is nice. The girl is really cute and i'm angry that that nerdy drummer dude is like totally in love with her and they sing great harmony and write nice songs. but that record is good too. I forget what else i've bought recently. New Beulah: great. New Spiritualized: ok. Elvis Costello reissue of Trust: rad. prefuse 73 ep: rad. New Decemberists: super. New enon: not sure yet, surely it's no high society. new iron and wine ep: gorgeous. can't think of anything else at the moment.

I got new glasses. THey're pretty rad. Sort of retro with plastic and hard lines. Now i just need a new wardrobe to go with them.... it's a work in progress i suppose.

damn, 11:35, been doing this crap for 40 minutes. see, i liked it better when i had no internet, i'd be asleep now.

Katie and i saw to be and to have tonight, a french documentary about this amazingly patient and awesome schoolteacher and all his cute kids and it was night. Tomorrow we're going to the red sox game and i guess it's a big game and i think our seats are nice. I'm mainly looking forward to a hot dog and beer. Hmm, i guess if they win tomorrow they clinch a playoff spot. that's cool i guess. but whether they win or lose there will be hot dogs and beer.

ok album is over, i gotta go now.

well, since God or whomever has decided that letting even the tiniest bit of happiness into my life is wholly unacceptable, out internet at the new place won't be turned on for another week. Given this news, I've decided to stay off the internet vandals and homeless people who might notice that this space is not being used and move in or turn it into a pokemon slash fiction site. So here i am. begone you people and your pikachu/ash/squirtle threeway! actually, that's kind of intriguing...

"Ash sighed as pikachu ran into his pokeball "pikachu, i choose you!" he said, almost pleading, "you can't listen to bulbosaur, you know he just wants to break us up so he can prove once and for all to jigglypuff that humans and pokemons can't interface" Pika poked his head out of the shiny pokeball, "pika?" "yes, pika. You know you're the only pocket monster for me."

Pikachu was reassured by these words, and pulled the rest of his small yellow self out of the pokeball. "Give us a hug, baby" Ash said, arms outstretched.

The two embraced, Pikachu's tail gave off a small lightning bolt at the contact. "

ok, it's not intriguing anymore. Well, it sort of is, but i couldn't think of a good way to bring squirtle into the scene without it seeming too forced. Another day perhaps.

So yesterday on the T some dude was reading a book on the nazification of germany. I saw that word, 'nazification,' and thought 'that's a neat word.' Then i started thinking of other words ending in 'ification.' there's glorification, edification, zombification, magnification... and i noticed a common thread... all the original words can be stemmed with "ified"... which means, logically, that "nazified" is a word, and that fucking rocks.

In other news, i've decided to be clinically depressed. I hate my job soooo much and can't find another one ever especially now with the no internet at all. I like need to quit real bad but the "man" has made all these "rules" for "living normally" that require getting and spending lots of "money." So quitting wouldn't really be smart. I mean, i could live comfortably with what i have for 4 months, frugally, six or seven. I'm going to check to see if Newbury Comics is hiring. And try and think of other shit retail jobs i wouldn't mind. Not like i need health insurance, who uses health insurance? i'll tell you who: jerks. Jerks and lesbians.

hmm, so in other news there are things that make me happy: video games, booze, buffy, angel and the OC. The OC is my new favorite show. And perhaps i'm just saying that for effect. our new place is great, but the living room is still an unlivable mess. I'd do something about it, but as I just discovered a minute ago, i don't have to, because i'm clinically depressed. It's the perfect excuse not to do anything! awesome. oh gee, i need to take the trash out? but i'm depressed, i can't. and instead i can play video games! All i need now is to find some empty bottles of zoloft to put in my room to fool katie. also, zoloft looks rad, that little ball that's all bouncing around like he's high? that looks like fun.

ok, it's precious lunch time now and i have many cds to purchase. Oh, katie and i went to the coolidge corner theater the other night and it woke up the long dead fire inside of me that likes to see movies. so hooray for that i suppose. ok cheerio.

oh yeah, i just had panini and it was good.
